Biography
I am primarily a portrait painter based in Solihull in the West Midlands. I enjoy both the challenge of a portrait commission, figurative pieces, and seascapes.
Typically my portraiture work is defined by a dramatic interplay of light and shadow, I aim to produce images with striking depth and visual impact. To achieve this effect my process can vary from painting from life to meticulously setting up impactful lighting for my subject in the studio.
I have had work selected for the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) in the Prize Exhibition for both 2020 and 2022. I am a regular exhibitor in the St Paul's Square Gallery having work shown in January 2023, 2024 and 2025. My work has also been on display at the Ikon for Artists exhibition in Birmingham.
I am inspired by numerous international and local artists, particularly those in St Ives in Cornwall where I spend a great deal of my time.
